The Best Cardio Workout Tips You Must Absolutely Know

When it comes to cardio exercises almost any movement that causes your heart rate to rise is fair game. Not all cardio exercises have the same effectiveness and some are more time consuming than others.

Choosing the best cardio workout is a personalized matter. Not all people are fit for all types of cardio.

If you are young and healthy, most trainers will agree that running is the best cardio for you. Running is an extremely taxing exercise for the body. Even though the legs take most of the stress, you have to move your whole body, keep your balance and endure the impact when running. Once a certain speed has become comfortable, you can easily up your game for some intense cardiovascular training. Sprinting in intervals during your running sessions will add that extra boost to your heart rate needs. Running should only be done by people who know the correct form and suffer from no ailments.

For those who suffer from joint, heart or breathing problems, cycling is the next best thing to do to get your heart the exercise it needs! Cycling offers many of the benefits of running, minus the stress on your joints and bones. You can start with normal cycling and up the difficulty by adding some resistance either by cycling up slopes or increasing the resistance level in spin bikes.

For those who can’t possibly bring themselves to do a repetitive and monotone exercise like running or cycling, kickboxing might be the solution. Kickboxing is exciting, very empowering and –let’s face it, plain cool. Kicks can be practiced at home easily and gym sessions have that competitive edge of social sports.

Remember for a cardio workout to be the best it can be you need to follow these rules:

  • Do not skip it! Always find time for your cardio, even if you have to sacrifice a bit of another hobby of yours.
  • Remember to cool down afterwards. It is important to let your heart return to a normal heart rate before starting other exercises or getting on with your life.
  • Do not do other things while doing cardio. Put that book down and don’t message on the phone. Cardio needs your full devotion and attention, or you aren’t doing it right.

Never forget that consistent cardio is the best cardio!
