Cooking Eggs the Right Way

It is very important to cook our eggs thoroughly to avoid food-borne illnesses.

According to the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics these tips will help you make sure you are eating your eggs the healthy way:

  • Whatever cooking style you choose for your eggs make sure that the egg yolk is cooked until firm and doesn’t stay runny.
  • Make sure that dishes that have lots of eggs in them like quiches and casseroles reach an inner temperature of 160 degrees by using a food thermometer
  • Never eat eggs raw or in uncooked foods like cookie dough or cake batter
  • Do not use raw eggs in recipes that call for it like Caesars dressing. Instead either skip or use pasteurized liquid egg or egg substitutes.
